612008 Threatening skies and windy conditions prompted us to shorten the program to an 1/8th mile on Sunday. The rain held off and we got our third National Parts Peddler E.T. Racing Series points race of the season in without a hitch. Highlights of the weekend were Scott Forbes return to the Super Pro winners circle after taking a few years off. Secondly, Dick Aversa is quickly establishing himself as the front runner in Street Trophy as he piloted his '07 Chevy Trailblazer SS to his third-straight class win. We had a decent turnout of racers as well as the P/T Cruisers Club on hand. Here is how the action went. Scott Forbes has returned to racing action this season after a few years off and drove his 92 Chevy S-10 to the Super Pro win. Scott had a .527 reaction time and ran a 6.640 at 105.38 mph on his 6.65 dial to defeat a red lighting Tim Roberts. Vince Musolino was the semifinalist.
Defending Pro Bike Champ Cory Bingel on his 04 Suzuki took the win today, as he bought back in and defeated Anthony McKeen, Sr. who was on his Performance Harley-Davidson backed 06 Destroyer. Cory who has been having issues of his own with his high horsepowered Suzook, got it hooked up this afternoon and won with a .621 initiated, 5.631 at 124.26 mph run on his 5.58 dial, while Anthony runner-upped with a .620 light and ran a 6.274 at 101.64 mph on his 6.22 dial. Mike McLain was the semifinalist on his 02 Kawasaki. Chad Wilcox won the Pro Sled title today as he rode his 02 Arctic Cat to the win over a red-lighting Herb Bingel who was on his 98 Ski-doo. Chad cut a .605 light and ran a 6.492 at 102.70 mph on his 6.44 dial, while Herb shut it off after his .496 bulb and ran a 7.35 at 71.67 mph on his 6.91 dial. Derek Eastman and Tim Phelps, both on Ski-doos, were the semifinalists.
Terry Lee, far lane, forces a breakout run from Anthony Zagari in Street Money final. In Modified, Wesley Cayea drove his 74 AMC Hornet to the win defeating Darin Buchanan who red lighted in his 67 Plymouth. Wesley ran right on his 6.68 dial with a 6.681 at 98.93 mph, while Darin shut it off. Eddie Reilly and Steve Searles were the semifinalists.
In Bike/Sled Combo action it was David Ashby taking the win on his 93 Kawasaki as he was the benefactor of a Herb Bingel red light. David won with an 8.580 at 75.99 mph run on his 8.54 dial-in. At the stripe it was Nicoles 7.966 at 79.12 mph run on her 7.90 dial being enough to get by Mikes 8.091 at 78.93 mph run on his 8.00 dial-in. Paige DeSalvo was the semifinalist. It was the Snyder boys, Jacob and Joshua facing off against each other in the Jr. Dragster B final round.
