Summit E.T. Racing Series - October 9th

Eastman Racing Dispatches Bike Challengers For Bike/Sled Sweep

Shane BingelIn what can be considered one of the wettest racing seasons in recent history, the weather Gods gave us a break and blessed the ESTA faithful with a beautiful day for racing. Read below for quick recaps of the racing action until Pete updates with his full class recount.

Super Pro
With nearly identical reaction times, Brett VanBrocklin lost a heartbreaker to Billy Caprara with a .004-too fast 7.806 run in their final round showdown.

Mike LaRose
took it one step further than his Super Pro semifinal finish and slapped a perfect .500 light on Steve Doss and scored the Pro class win. Doss was right there with Mike, but his .003 too quick .497 red light sealed the deal for LaRose.

Summit E.T. Racing Series - Sept. 18th

We had a picture perfect day on Sunday, Sept. 18 as we hosted the National Dragster/NYS Championships along with a Stock / Super Stock event. With top payouts, NHRA “Wally” trophies for most classes with the others getting the cool looking “Tree” type trophies,  the place was packed. Fans, racers and the workers were all anticipating a great day of racing action and that’s just what we got. Here are the results.

Super Pro

In Super Pro it was Tom Belvick taking his second straight win driving his ’04 S&W Chevy powered dragster. Tom used a .520 reaction time and a 7.791 at 171.16 mph run on his 7.78 dial to stop current 1st place racer Vince Musolino who was driving his Ricelli Enterprises sponsored ’11 American Dragster. Vince had to settle for the runner up spot with a .536 initiated, 7.336 at 180.73 mph, running just under his 7.34 dial. Ken Miller was the semifinalist in his reliable '72 Maverick.

Musolino KOT Win

Well it’s been a month since we have been able to complete a Summit E.T. Points race, and with a 60% chance of rain in the forecast today the outlook seemed bleak. But, somehow the rain stayed away and we got one in. Here’s how the racing action went.

In the King of The Track Race which pitted all of our current #1 points racers against each other for the coveted “Wally” trophy, it was Vince Musolino driving his Ricelli Enterprises backed 2011 American Dragster to the win. Vince stopped Dick Aversa in the first round, got a freebie in the semi’s when Mike LaRose had the misfortune of wounding his car in the first round, which then put him against Pro MX rider Keith Miller on his ’86 Suzuki in the final. Keith stopped Anthony Zangari in the first round and Heather Scheirer in the semis. In the final, Vince held a .532 to .590 reaction time advantage and that’s all he needed as he won with a 7.507 at 180.20 mph run on his 7.45 dial to stop Keith’s valiant 10.547 at 126.05 mph run on his 10.55 dial. Kevin Wuest was the Bike/Sled Trophy competitor in the race.
