 Adam's 11.50 Shootout
Today we hosted
Adam Carlson's 11.50 Pro Tree Shootout race as well as our 3rd Summit E.T. Series points race of the season. Bob Belvick drove his '69 Camaro to the $1,000 payday in the Shootout by stopping Terry Lee who was in his Chevy powered '89 Mustang. In the final Bob held a .525 to .559 reaction time advantage and won it with an 11.603 at 89.32 mph, while Terry had to settle for the runner up with his 11.604 at 101.36 mph. Brian Skiff and Larry Forjone were the semifinalists. Thanks to Adam Carlson for putting this event together again. Watching all the racers try to run close to the 11.50 index made for some very interesting and entertaining racing action.

Summit E.T. Racing Series - June 19th

619main

What a season so far, here it is June 19th and we are just completing our 2nd Summit ET Series points race and the first one to run ¼ mile due to all of the wet Spring weather. Hopefully now that summer starts June 21st we can get into a dry pattern and get some racing action in. Anyways today we hosted the Vivian’s Vision for a Cure Jr. Dragster race as well as the rescheduled Street Showdown, we had great weather and here are the results.

In the Vivian’s Vision Jr. Event it was Jake Lipke wheeling his Jr. Hot Rod to the win when he stopped Kimberly Klein in the final round. Both were dialed in at 7.90 and Jake was able to get a slight reaction time advantage .558 to .580 and he ran 7.933 at 81.64 mph for the win. Kim was right there as he settled for the runner up spot with a 7.946 at 81.37 mph effort. Shannon Harrison and Jake’s sister Jenna were the semifinalists.

Vivian's race included all Jr. A & B racers, 25 in total who wished to take a shot at the $500 Savings Bond and large first place trophy. Racers had one time trial to qualify for the elimination ladder and Kimberly Klein grabbed the number 1 qualifying spot with her five-0 reation time. Other awards presented to first round racers were: Best Reaction time awarded to Chelsey Hancock for her .525 light; and Best Package awarded to Shannon Harrison (details to follow). Hmm, the girls kicked the guy's butt in the special awards department!
