Summit E.T. Racing Series - September 29

Evening Overcomes Packed Event Schedule

September 29 - We had a great turnout of race vehicles this week, but unfortunately with some heavy rain overnight on Saturday we got off to a late start and could not complete most of the event before darkness set in. Here's how the racing action went.

In the Buffalo vs. Syracuse Outlaw Heads-up action, the final round would have been a race between Moe Aifagih and Mark Town both driving Mustangs. Moe had the field covered by about three tenths running consistently in the 4.70 range, while Mark was in the low 5 second range. Unless something strange happened, Moe would have more than likely won the event. Giving props to Mark making it to the final though in his first time out this season. Mike Gwynn lost to Mark in the semi's.

Super Pro
In Super Pro we got down to five cars and it was Tom Doig, Ron Klein Sr., Howie Smith, Vince Musolino and Mark Talmadge.

We also got three rounds of Pro in with the following remaining: AJ Meier, Steve English, Steve Doss, Howard Roberts, Don Austin and Chris Corlyon.

Pro MX
We made it to the final round in Pro MX where John Blume and Papo Santiago were set to square off. Beau Ivy and Jim Collins were the semifinalists.

Street Money
After three rounds of Street Money action all that was left was Tim Kirley, Todd Minerd and Kurt Hagen.

We made it through 3 rounds of Modified as well and it was Ken Stever, Brian Mahler, Howard Roberts and Nick Carr making it to the semifinal round.

Street Trophy
Street Trophy would have seen Steve English and Steve Seelman Sr. race each other in the final round. Kurt Hagen and Rich Garland III were the semifinalists.

Bike/Sled Trophy
Bike/Sled Trophy also would have been a final round as Bob Salerno and Brian Dixon would have raced each other. Kevin Wuest and Brandon MacCombie were the semifinalists.

Limited Street 5.50 Index
In the Limited Street 5.50 index portion of the event we made it as far as the semi's with the three remaining drivers being Gary Breman, John Sahli and Chris Scarlata.

Limited Street 6.50 Index
One of the final rounds that we did complete was the Limited Street 6.50 race and in the final it was Bill Bedell and Anthony Zangari racing each other. Bill driving his '85 Regal took the win with a shut off 6.92 while Anthony had the misfortune of sheering off the left wheel axle studs, crossing the center line and wiping out the tree in the process. Tyler Beauregard and Anthony Correia were the semifinalists.

Jr. Dragster
The other final round we completed was in the Jr. Dragster class. Natalia Musolino got the win defeating Kimberlee Snell. Natalia held a .023 to .138 reaction time advantage and ran an 8.003 at 78.25 mph on her 7.93 dial, while Kim had to settle for the runner-up spot with a 7.975 at 81.09 mph run on her 7.90 dial. Alexis Collins and Messiah Hart were the semifinalists.
