Summit E.T. Racing Series - August 4

Super Pro Winner Iggy Falcone

Falcone, Belvick & Costa Score Pro Wins
August 4 - A great weather day greeted racers and fans today as we logged in our 6th Summit Racing E.T. Series point event of the season. Streaks continued and veterans returned to the winner circle as we saw some great side-by-side racing culimnating in the finals. Here's how the final rounds shook out and the boxscores below.

Iggy Falcone - Super Pro Winner

Super Pro
Vince "Iggy" Falcone continues to illustrate that he is a threat to win on any given weekend and piloted his immaculate '65 "Goat" to the Super Pro win over Tom Doig who drove his equally, impressive '69 Dart. Iggy left little room for Tom to drive around him for a win with his .006 to .038 reaction time advantage, and did push Tom into a breakout run to score the win. Iggy dialed in at a 6.35 and stopped the top end timers with a 6.362 at 107.88 mph for the win. Tom dialed his Mopar in at a 5.56, but dipped under his dial with a too-quick 5.552 at 123.30 mph pass in his effort to close the R.T. gap. "Hot Rod" Heather Scheirer made it the semis for the second week in a row along with Kris Larsen.

Bob Belvick - Pro Winner

Bob Belvick also scored a breakout win against Gary Rolfe Jr. in the Pro final when his .010 to .113 reaction time advantage forced Gary into a breakout run. Gary drove his '85 Chevy S-10 to a .052-under, 10.728 at 121.92 mph as he tried to hold off Bob's hard-charging '69 Chevy. Bob drove a 10.272 at 123.89 mph pass on his 10.24 dial-in to scoop up another win to add to his resume. Matt Consiglio was the lone semifinalist.

Josh Costa - Pro MX Winner

Pro MX
The bikes ruled the Pro MX roost today as Josh Costa and Matt Luke did battle and it was Josh collecting the white timeslip and win. Josh spotted Matt a 8.77 to 8.69 head start and held a modest .051 to .094 reaction time advantage and cruised to the win with a 8.767 at 141.11 mph winning pass. Either Matt experienced mechanical issues or conceded defeat and coasted to a 10.144 at 76.95 mph for the runner-up timeslip. Mike Bamford and Brandon MacCombie each drove to semifinal runs on the day.

Dan Caissie - Street Money Winner

Street Money
Dan Caissie held a considerable starting line advantage over Jim Hopper, .066 to .153, and cruised to an off-the-gas 11.000 on his 10.90 dial to score another Victory Lane photo-op. Jim drove his '85 Chevy Monte Carlo to a 12.567 at 107.48 mph on his 12.52 dial-in, and had to settle for the runner-up honors. Steve Seelman Sr. and Weston Hodgson each drove to a semifinal finish on the day.

P.J. Haynes - Modified Winner

P.J. Haynes matched Steve Ellinger's 3 race win streak and scored his third-straight Modified final with a double breakout win over Jim Pipines. P.J. held a .104 to .141 reaction time lead and ran just under his 10.73 dial-in with a 10.728 at 122.27 mph, while Jim drove his 2019 Mercedes further under his 12.76 dial, running 12.715 at 111.12 mph. Steve Ellinger was the lone semifinalist.

Bob O'Malley - Street Trophy Winner

Street Trophy
Bob O'Malley dodged a bullet in the Street Trophy final when point leader Kurt Hagen went -0.023 red at the start thus negating a .013-over 12.453 at 109.20 mph pass. Bob dialed his 454ci-powered '66 Chevy in at an 11.65 and drove to a 11.724 at 115.43 mph to garner the win. Earl Snyder and Jim Pipines each went rounds, but bowed out in the semis.

John Kuhfta - Bike/Sled Trophy Winner

Bike/Sled Trophy
John Kuhfta got the Bike/Sled Trophy win over Matt Luke winning both ends of the track with a .025-iniated, 10.174 at 120.94 mph pass on his 10.16 dial-in. Matt wasn't too far off on the line, but still had to settle for the runner-up finish when he launched his 2017 Suzuki with an .033 light and ran an 8.878 at 154.51 mph on his 8.77 dial.  David Ashby drove to the semifinal finish.

Jimmy O'Toole - Jr. Dragster Winner

Jr. Dragster
Jimmy O'Toole scored his second win of the season when he drilled the tree with a .006 light and ran an off-the-throttle 7.995 at 78.12 mph on his 7.92 dial. Kimberlee Snell missed the tree with a .118 light and drove to a 7.937 at 81.06 mph on her 7.90 dial-in in her runner-up effort. Alexis Collins and Messiah Hart each made it to the semis on the day.

Natalie Musolino - Atco Jr. Dragster Winner

Natalie Musolino Scores Atco Win
Natalie Musolino went bounty hunting on the road this weekend and came away with a Jr. Dragster win at Atco Dragway!

That wraps it up for today's action. The Sunday, August 11 event will be an open Test & Tune event highlighted by the $1K-to-Win American Muscle Pro Stick race, plus the Syracuse Outlaws Race #2. No Summit Racing E.T. Series points racing.
