Summit E.T. Racing Series - June 23

June 23rd Pro Final

Stankivitz Returns to Super Pro Winner Circle
Ellinger, Hagen Repeat in Modified and Trophy
June 23 - A beautiful weather greeted racers and fans on Sunday as we completed our second Summit Racing E.T. Season event. Steve Ellinger and Kurt Hagen both continued their winning ways from their wins on June 9th in Modified and Street Trophy respectively.  Here's how the final rounds shook out and the boxscores below.

Gene Stankivitz Super Pro Winner

Super Pro
The Super Pro final saw veteran racer Gene Stankivitz  return to the Super Pro winner circle when his final round opponent Steve Doss lit the red light and shut his dragster down, handing the win over to Gene. Dialed in at a 4.85, Gene posted a stout .015 reaction time and drove his dragster out to a 4.871 at 139.65 mph pass to secure the win. Jacob Bombard and Jordan Reader drove to semifinal finishes on the day.

Matt Consiglio Pro Winner

With identical .035 reaction times at the start, the winner was to be determined at the finishline and it was Matt Consiglio scoring the Pro win over Todd Lipke by a slim .009 margin of victory. Matt got the headstart with his '77 Oldsmobile dialed in at a 7-flat and drove to a 7.035 at 95.95 mph in his winning effort. Todd dialed his '69 Nova in at a 6.40, but could not catch Matt at the top end running a slightly slower 6.444 at 100.43 mph and had to settle for the runner-up honors. Gary Rolfe Sr. and Mike LaRose drove to semifinal finishes.

Lynn Major - Pro MX Winner

Pro MX
Pro MX action saw Lynn Major ride his '06 Suzuki to the win over Bob Salerno on his '99 Ski-doo race sled. Giving up a .6 of a second head start, Lynn won the reaction time battle with his .021 to .035 r.t. advantage and caught Bob at the top end posting a 5.110 at 121.22 mph on his 5.09 dial winning pass. Bob drove his ski-doo to a 5.757 at 109.26 mph on his 5.69 dial-in for the runner-up finish. John Kuhfta and Kevin Wuest drove to a semifinal finishes.

Steve Seelman Jr. - Street Money Winner

Street Money
Steve Seelman Jr. improved on his June 9 runner-up finish and scored the Street Money win when Bill Coon lit the red light in their final round match-up. With nearly a 1-second head start going to Bill, Steve had plenty of time to absorb Bill's red light and eased off the line with a .110-initiated, 8.548 on his 8.57 dial-in winning pass. Bill ran a great .018-over 9.518 at 72.82 mph, but his too quick -0.115 foul eliminated his chance at victory.  Dan French and Mike Halsey made it to the semis.

Steve Ellinger - Modified Winner

Steve Ellinger repeated his June 9 Modified win this time over Don Austin. Like his June 9 win, it was essentially over at the start when Steve posted a .015 to .114 reaction time advantage which forced Don into running a breakout pass in his effort to close the gap. Steve dialed his '69 Chevy in at a 6.34 and stayed ahead of Don's S-10 at the top end to post a 6.403 at 106.57 mph winning run. Don ran a too-quick 6.352 on his 6.39 dial-in and had to settle for the runner-up finish. Howard Roberts and Matt Cole were the Modified semifinalists of the day.

Kurt Hagen - Street Trophy Winner

Street Trophy
Kurt Hagen got his second-straight Street Trophy win when his .005 package forced Steve English into a breakout run. Kurt won the line with a .028 to .072 reaction time advantage and drove his 2011 Camaro to a .022-over 8.002 at 82.10 mph to score the win. In his effort to close the gap, Steve drove his Cutlass to a .007-under, 7.603 at 90.15 mph runner-up pass. Mark Fortino and Dan Lerch drove to semifinal finishes.

Bob Salerno - Bike/Sled Trophy Winner

Bike/Sled Trophy
Bob Salerno got the B/S Trophy win over John Kuhfta winning both ends of the track. Bob had the reaction time advantage .047 to .114 and reeled John's '94 Polaris in at the top end to post a 5.774 on his 5.69 dial for the win. John rode to a 6.383 at 102.46 mph on his 6.35 dial and settled for the runner-up finish. Brandon MacCombie was the lone semifinalist.

Kimberlee Snell - Jr. Dragster Winner

Jr. Dragster
Kimberlee Snell broke before she could challenge Alexis Collins in the June 9th Jr. Dragster final, but made it to the line on Sunday and was awarded the win when Alexis posted a just-too-quick -0.006 foul start. Dialing in at an 8.04, Kimberlee cut a .135 r.t. and drove her dragster to an 8.118 at 78.96 mph for the win. Despite her red light, Alexis drove to an excellent 7.918 on her 7.90 dial in her runner-up effort.  Messiah Hart made it to the semis.

That wraps it up for today's action, we'll see you next Sunday when the 5.50 and 6.50 Index races return to compliment our full E.T. Series class schedule.
