Summit E.T. Racing Series - September 9

2018 KOT Final

September 9 - We returned to our regular Summit Racing E.T. Series point schedule on Sunday after an abbreviated weather event last Sunday. The annual King of the Track race highlighted the day along with our regular E.T. series classes. Here's how the final rounds shook out and the boxscores below.

Ryan Orizino - King of the Track Winner

King of the Track
Ryan Orizino outlasted the other class point leaders to score the 2018 King of the Track title with his win over Myles Higby. Myles drove closer to his dial-in, but missed the tree and gave Ryan an .008 cushion which he parlayed into a .024 MOV win. Kevin Wuest and Steve English were the semifinalists.

Scott Drake - Super Pro Winner

Super Pro
Scott Drake went .005 on the green side of the tree while his opponent, Mike LaRose went -.005 into the red zone in their Super Pro final duel. Mike Brown and Joe Rolfe drove to semifinal finishes.

Todd Lipke - Pro Winner

Pro
Todd Lipke was the beneficiary of a Don Austin red light, but he would have been tough to catch as Todd strapped a .004 reaction time and cruised to a 11.392 on his 11.35 dial. Al Meier was the lone semifinalist.

Ron Dean - Pro MX Winner

Pro MX
Ron Dean is always good for a win or two each year despite not being a weekly racer at ESTA. Ron got the head start over Heath Smith and got things started with an excellent .019 r.t. and drove to the win with a 9.918 on his 9.85 dial-in. Heath was dialed in at a smoking-fast 8.60 and ran a .041-initiated pass of 8.654 at a blistering 148.05 mph to secure the runner-up finish. Rich Garguilo was the lone semifinalist.

Steve English - Street Money Winner

Street Money
Steve English overcame a .145 to .121 Todd Minerd holeshot and came away with a close win for the Street Money first place finish. Rich Garland and Nicholas Carr both drove to semifinal finishes.

Chrissy Klein - Modified Winner

Modified
Chrissy Klein drove her 2018 dragster to a .006-over 7.706 at 173.08 mph pass to score the win over Steve Searles in their Modified final round match. Steve held a solid .039 to .073 reaction time edge, but broke out by .002 in his effort to hold off Chrissy's hard charging dragster. PJ Haynes was the lone semifinalist.

Kurt Hagen - Street Trophy Winner

Street Trophy
Kurt Hagen scored the Street Trophy win over Steve Seelman Jr.  Brian Russ was the lone semifinalist.

Kevin Wuest - Bike/Sled Winner

Bike/Sled Trophy
Kevin Wuest held a decisive .040 to .108 r.t. advantage over Ryan Orizino and cruised to another Bike/Sled Trophy win. David Ashby and Rich Garguilo scored semifinal finishes.

Jr. Dragster
Jazmyne Short had all the cushion she needed to score the Junior win over Chance Nash with her .115 to .142 starting line advantage. While not stellar reactions by either driver, Jazmyne had just enough cushion to catch Chance and lift for the win. Natalie Musolino and Messiah Hart drove to semifinal finishes.

That wraps it up for today's action. We'll see you next Sunday.
