Summit E.T. Racing Series - July 1

Street Money Final

Die-Hard Dedication to Racers Willing to Beat the Heat
July 1 - With temperatures in the 90s and a "heat index" over 110 degrees our hats are off to all the dedicated racers and wonderful staff who braved the oppressive conditions to complete the 3rd Summit Racing E.T. Series event of the season. Here's how the final rounds shook out and the boxscores below.

Mike Scribani - Super Pro Winner

Super Pro
The Super Pro final saw Mike Scribani get the red light win over Mike Thomas who was -.003 too quick at the tree and negated a solid 6.484 e.t. on his 6.47 dial-in. Mr. Scribani cut a decent .036 light and broke out from his 6.36 dial-in with a 6.352 at 105.13 mph pass, but it didn't matter as his win light was glowing after the red light start. Jordan Reader was the lone semifinalist.

Mike Dunbar - Pro Winner

Pro
Mike Dunbar got the Pro win over Mike LaRose winning the starting line duel .065 to Mike's .054 reaction and ran closer to his 7.12 dial-in at the top end with a 7.130 at 90.39 mph securing the win. LaRose tripped the top end lights at 6.713 at 101.87 mph on his 6.69 dial in his runner-up effort. Becca Searles drove hard to a semifinal finish on the day.

Davis Ashby - Pro MX Winner

Pro MX
Pro MX action saw David Ashby ride his Crashbee Racing '90 Kawasaki to the win over a red-lighting Kevin Wuest. David broke out from his 8.26 dial with a 8.250 at 81.79 mph pass, but it was Kevin's too-quick -.020 red light that handed Dave the win. Kevin drove his 2018 chassied, Polaris to a 6.395 at 104.15 mph pass for the runner-up honors. Bob Salerno was the lone semifinalist.

Steve Seelman Jr. - STreet Money Winner

Street Money
Steve Seelman Jr. won the Street Money final over Kurt Hagen for his second win on the day. Steve's .063 to .106 reaction time advantage forced Kurt into a breakout run in effort to close the gap. Steve drove his '89 Firebird to a 8.783 at 78.26 mph pass on his 8.70 dial-in for the win. Kurt drove his '11 Camaro to a too-quick 8.103 on his 8.12 dial-in for the runner up honors. Mike Seelman Jr. was the lone semifinalist.

Myles Higby - Modified Winner

Modified
Myles Higby took the Modified win over Steve Searles in a renewal of their Modified class battles. Steve held a decisive starting line advantage with a .009 to .085 lead, but the heat must have been too much for the '86 Mustang which fell off Steve's 7.04 prediction to a 7.256 at 93.55 mph run. Myles' '72 Cuda was right there to snatch the win with a solid 6.376 on his 6.36 dial-in for the win. Brian Mahler drove to the semifinal finish.

Street Trophy
Steve Seelman Jr. got his first win of the day in Trophy by virtue of a Steve English red-light start. Steve Seelman Jr. left an open door at the line with his .131 r.t., but ran a solid 8.733 on his 8.70 dial-in for the win. Seeing his red light at the line, Mr. English shut his Cutlass off early and cruised to an 8.407 e.t. on his 8.25 dial-in. Kurt Hagen and Jim Pipines drove to semifinal finishes.

Kevin Wuest - Bike/Sled Winner

Bike/Sled Trophy
Kevin Wuest won a double, red-light start over David Ashby in the Bike/Sled Trophy final, but the first is the worst and David's -.055 foul handed the win over to Kevin. Bob Salerno and Rich Garguilo were the semifinalists.

Kimberlee Snell - Jr. Dragster Winner

Jr. Dragster
Kimberlee Snell got the Jr. Dragster win over Abby Weeks when Abby took too much win stripe at the top end with her too-quick 8.530 at 75.37 mph run on her 8.60 dial. Kimberlee ran a .061-initiated 8.055 at 81.36 mph run on her 8.02 dial for the win. Savannah Powers drove to the lone semifinal finish.

That wraps it up for today's action. A heartfelt thanks to everyone who came out on Sunday to brave the heat. We'll see you next Sunday.
