Tonight we all got together at the Clarion Hotel in Syracuse to cap off our 50th anniversary season of NHRA Drag Racing and to award our season’s high points finishers in the Summit E.T. Racing Series.
In Super Pro Scott Forbes won his third straight title with a total of 50 points. Tom Belvick was second with 43 and Eric Bunal was third with 40.
Howard Roberts won the Pro title with a total of 59 points. Myles Higby was second with 45 and Bryan Backus was third with 43.
Heath Smith was the first season champ in the newly formed Pro MX class where we combined the former Pro Bike and Pro Sled classes. Heath rode his Polaris to a season high 56 points. Kevin Wuest was second with 47 and Sudsy Eastman placed third with 40.
Anthony Zangari won his second straight Street Money title with a 48 point count. Todd Minerd was second with 43 and Terry Lee was third with 39.
In Modified Terry Scheirer and Myles Higby ended up tied on the last day so in the runoff Terry beat Myles and won by a point with 43 points, Myles was second with 42 and Ken Miller was third with 33 points.
Dick Aversa won his third straight Street Trophy title with 53 points. Howie Conklin was second with 39 and Todd Minerd finished third with 35.
Sudsy Eastman won the Bike / Sled Trophy class title with 48 points, Kevin Wuest was second with 34 and Shawn Fetter finished third with 29.
Justin Hardman capped off a great season in the Jr. Dragster “A” (he also won the 16-17 year old age class at the Div. 1 race held at Mason Dixon) class by winning the title with 42 points. Morgan Bunal was second with 36 and Shaquille Scott finished third with 35 points.
The Jr. Dragster “B” class finished in a tie between Jacob Snyder and Shannon Harrison. In their runoff Jacob was able to win and he finished in first place with 38 points. Shannon finished second with 37 and Casey Bedell and Dunham Hall finished tied for third with 29 points each.
