Steve English Scores Affordable Carpet Street Shootout Win

Steve English - Street Shootout Winner

August 30 - The Affordable Carpet Street Shootout had a great weather day for the Street Money racers to take a crack at a big payday and it was Street Money/Trophy Ace Steve English scoring the big win. Steve's opponent was Jake Lipke who scored a runner-up finish in last week's Street Money final when he fouled out on the line against Jon Skellham. Determined not repeat that result, Jake took it too easy this time and gave up a .530 to .665 reaction time advantage to Steve and was forced into a breakout 11.814 on his 11.90 dial-in. Steve ran a solid 12.752 at 103.40 mph pass on his 12.73 dial-in to score the big paycheck. Mike Wilson was the lone semifinalist. A huge thank you to Mike Halsey of Affordable Carpet for his sponsorship and promotion of this event for the second-straight year.

Jeremy Popple - Super Pro Winner

Super Pro
Super Pro action saw Jeremy Popple score the win over Gene Stankivitz. Gene got things started off with a decent .523 light in his '81 Malibu wagon, but Jeremy was quicker on the tree with a .508 reaction and ran closer to his 7.89 dial-in with a 7.944 at 151.95 winning pass. Gene ran a 10.275 on his 10.20 dial-in for his runner-up effort. Mike Thomas drive to the semifinal finish.

Ryan Koskowski - Pro Winner

Pro
Ryan Koskowski gave up the starting line advantage to Justin Hardman, but drove to a .01-over 10.016 on his 10.00 dial-in to score the Pro win. Justin fell off his 10.37 prediction with a 10.462 E.T. at 128.28 mph in his runner-up effort. Vito Raineri was the semifinalist.

Ryan Orizino - Pro MX Winner

Pro MX
Ryan Orizino scored the Pro MX win when Matt Luke pushed his '05 Suzuki to a .428 red light start in their final round match. Ryan left the door open with his .606 r.t., but fortunately Matt's foul start negated what would have been a tight race at top end.  Brian Moulton rode his '76 Kawasaki to a semifinal finish.

Modified
Don Leppard got it done today with a solid .518-initiated, 10.867 on his 10.85 dial to defeat Scott Smith and his '64 Plymouth for the Modified win. Tom Samsel was the sole semifinalist.

Mike Holifield - Street Trophy Winner

Street Trophy
Mike Holified  returned to the Street Trophy winners circle with his '13 Chevy when he drove around Brian Mahler for the win. Brian had Mike at the start, but took too much win stripe at the finish with his breakout 15.847 at 82.40 mph pass on his 15.90 dial. Mike ran a solid 14.863 on his 14.85 dial-in for his winning pass. Steve English and Jason Schaffer made it to semi finishes.

Bike/Sled Trophy
Ryan Orizino doubled up on final round wins today when he forced Kevin Wuest into a breakout pass on the strength of his .521 to .613 reaction time advantage. Steve Stone and Brian Moulton were the semifinalists.

Abby Hacker - Jr. Dragster Winner

Jr. Dragster
Abby Hacker ran closer to her 7.92 dial to defeat defending class champion Dunham Hall in their final round duel. Jazmyne Short was the lone semifinalist.
