Summit E.T. Racing Series - July 5

Kevin Wuest - Pro MX Showdown Winner

July 5 - Well now, after a three week layoff due some very wet weather we finally got back to racing action today with a full plate of racing to complete. We had the Pro MX Showdown to finish from it's original June 14th date, we also had the Pro Showdown and an 11.50 Index Race (which was run 7.36 in the 1/8 mile) as well as all of our regular classes. We had a perfect sunny day and here is how the racing went.

Pro MX Showdown
The rain-delayed June 14 Pro MX Showdown final was decided on the start line when Ron Dean pushed the tree a bit too hard and lit the red light with a .488 R.T. handing the win to multi-champion Kevin Wuest. Dialing in with a 6.67, Kevin ran his '97 Polaris out to a 6.705 at 98.93 mph to take the $750 first place purse. Ron punched out a 6.265 at 105.12 mph on his 6.28 dial and settled up for the runner-up finish. Matt Luke and Bob Salerno were the semifinalists for the day.

Matt Spisak - Super Pro

Super Pro
Matt Spisak drove his dragster to his second win of the year by stopping Iggy Falcone in an extremely close final round. Both drivers were on the tree with Iggy holding a .501 to .504 advantage, but he took too much stripe at the finish line and ran just under his 6.32 dial in with a 6.312 at 106.42 mph effort. Matt ran a 5.110 at 135.10 mph on his 5.08 dial to take his spot in the ESTA winners circle presented by Auto Care at Split Rock. Jordan Reader continues to impress driving his new dragster to a semifinal round finish.

Mike LaRose - Pro

Pro
Mike LaRose has been on a tear this season so far driving his "Hustle Stuff" '68 GTX to his second straight Pro win stopping Anthony Zangari in his '95 Camaro who had to settle for his second straight runner up finish. Mike was .506 at the tree and shut off after seeing Anthony's very close .496 red light. Anthony ran it through to a 6.401 at 108.18 mph run on his 6.43 dial. April Martin was the semifinalist.

Ryan Orizino - Pro MX

Pro MX
In this week's Pro MX action Ryan Orizino took the win on his '96 Arctic Cat after Dennis Boston moved too soon and red lighted on his '03 Ski-Doo. Ryan had a .579 r.t. and ran a 6.511 at 103.47 mph on his 6.52 dial. Dennis had a .462 foul and shut off. Rick Fies and Brian Moulton were the semifinalists.
