Summit E.T. Racing Series - October 5

Summit Racing E.T. Series Enters in Final Leg of 2014 Season

Kimberly Klein - Modified Winner

October 5 - We raced today in the 1/8 mile format due to all the rain we got on Saturday coupled with the cool temperatures which made track drying efforts very difficult. But even after a brief afternoon drizzle we were able to complete another Summit E.T. point’s race.

Check out the Final Round Boxscores Here.

Matt Spisak - Super Pro Winner

Former Jr. Dragster racer Jake Lipke made it all the way to the semi’s in his big car debut.

The Modified final came down to two more former Jr. Dragster drivers as Kimberly Klein won for the second race in a row in her dragster stopping Becca Searles who was driving her Mustang. This one was over early after Becca lit the red light with a .470 but she still ran close to her 7.09 dial with a 7.109 at 96.16 mph. Kim would have been very tough to beat though as she carded the best winning reaction time of all the classes today with her .509 light and then she ran right on her 4.91 dial with a 4.918 at 139.44 mph blast. Becca took over the points lead with her r/u finish. Mike Parker was the semifinalist.

 Codi Kennedy Street Trophy Winner

Street Trophy
Street Trophy saw Codi Kennedy driving her ’79 Camaro to her first ever win after she stopped Shawn Bradwell in his ’14 Nissan. Bob ran well off his 6.16 prediction with a 6.257 at 106.12 mph runner up effort. Current point’s leader Sudsy Eastman made it to the semi’s as well as Matt Luke.

Jr. Dragster
In Jr. Dragster action Jazymne Short was gunning for her first win but she had to face multi time winner Dunham Hall in the final round. This one was over fast when Jazymne red lighted with a .450 bulb and only ran 9.678 at 66.29 mph on her 9.41 dial. Dunham collected another win and held his point’s lead and his numbers were .587 at the tree with a 7.900 at 82.58 mph pass on his 7.91 dial. Casey Bedell was the semifinalist.

That does it for today’s racing action. We still are scheduled for two more point’s day’s so we’ll see if we can get them in and see if the leaders can hold onto their leads.
