Summit E.T. Racing Series - June 15

Doss Wheels Firebird to Affordable Carpet Street Shootout Win

Steve Doss Wins Affordable Carpet Street Shootout

June 15 - When big money purses are up for grabs Steve Doss is one of many racers who will field an entry for a crack at a big payout. Steve did just that when his .556 to .693 reaction time advantage over Jim Smith forced Jim into a breakout run thus scoring the Affordable Carpet Street Shootout $1,000 first place prize. Jim got the headstart in his '89 Sonoma when he dialed in at a 12.83, but ran too quick with a 12.804 at 106.13 mph for the runner-up effort. Steve dialed his '99 Firbird in a an 11.50 and backed it off to an 11.609 at 105.92 mph when he caught Jim at the top end. Jordan Reader continued his late round appearances and finished with the strong semifinal finish.

Thank you to Mike Halsey of Affordable Carpet for sponsoring this event and to BJ BeDell, Anthony Zangari and NYS Natural Inc. for their support as well.

Iggy Falcone - June 15 Super Pro Winner

Super Pro
Iggy Falcone was the Super Pro winner on Mother’s Day this year so why not win again on Father’s Day, so that is exactly what he did driving his familiar ’65 GTO to the final round victory when he stopped Tom Belvick in his Chevy powered dragster. Both drivers had .531 reaction times, but at the stripe it was Iggy’s 9.972 at 134.38 mph run on his 9.95 dial in bettering Tom’s 7.980 at 169.20 run on his 7.90 dial. Ryan Koskowski and Tom Doig were the semifinalists.

Terry Lee - June 15 Pro Winner

Terry Lee went back to back in Pro today winning the class for the second straight week driving his Chevy powered Mustang around Tyler Bedell who was driving his borrowed ’72 Chevelle. Terry held a .555 to .619 starting line advantage and ran a 10.259 at 123.65 mph on his 10.18 dial to stop Tyler who had to settle for the well deserved runner up spot by running a 13.029 at 101.87 mph on his 12.97 dial. Anthony Zangari and Mike LaRose Jr. were the semifinalists.

Pro MX
In Pro MX action Kevin Wuest rode his ’97 Polaris to the double breakout win over Brian Moulton who was on his ’76 Kawasaki. Brian had the reaction time advantage .559 to .600, but he ran a 10.018 at 119.33 mph on his 10.04 dial allowing Kevin to win with his 10.614 at 117.82 mph run on his 10.63. Sudsy Eastman was the semifinalist.

Myles Higby fought mechanical issues most of the day in his ’69 Dodge, but in the end he was able to walk away with the Modified win because Becca Searles in her ’96 Mustang lit the red light with a .496 reaction time and ran it through to an 11.235 at 117.75 mph on her 11.30 dial. Myles had a .643 light and ran a 14.81 at 53.64 mph on his 10.54 for the easy win. Jim Giordano lasted until the semi’s.

Street Trophy
The "Cold Brook Comet" Rod Skinner did it again as he does every year and scored the Street Trophy win over Earl Snyder winning both ends of the track in his '83 Chevy Wagon. Ron Lince Jr. and Scott Brosnan were the semifinalists.

Bike/Sled Trophy
Kevin Wuest picked up his second win of the day riding off with the Bike/Sled Trophy title defeating David Ashby on his ’90 Kawasaki. Kevin had a .608 light and ran a 10.642 at 114.26 mph on his 10.61 dial, while David had a .648 light and ran under his 13.62 dial with a 13.618 at 94.55 mph runner up effort. Brian Moulton and Ryan Orizino were the semifinalists.

Dunham Hall - June 15 Jr. Dragster Winner

Jr. Dragster
After several runner up finishes so far this year Dunham Hall finally broke through to grab his first Jr. Dragster win of the season. In a rematch of last week’s final round Dunham was able to defeat Shane Bingel. Dunham barely edged Shane at the tree .572 to .591 and he won with a 7.937 at 80.46 mph run on his 7.92 dial, while Shane went right on his 8.90 dial in with an 8.901 at 71.55 mph in his runner up effort. Rookie driver Colby Bingel lost to Dunham in the semi’s.

Sunday, June 22 will feature the Pro MX Showdown as well as our regular E.T. Series event.
